Steffen Lehmann have frequently been invited as a member and chair of conference committees and editorial boards, and act as peer-referee for academic conference papers. Since 1990, numerous articles and chapters in architectural periodicals of international repute, in books and newspapers, and papers for refereed and non-refereed conferences (some 200 papers and articles, in more than 20 countries), provide a consistent record and evidence of continued scholarship, and involvement in current architectural debates, as well as regular contribution to architectural media (Domus, Bauwelt, DBZ, AR, etc).
A regular contributor to architectural media, Steffen has achieved an international academic reputation for his writings and papers.
Since 2006, he has been Co-Editor, and since 2007 General Editor, of the refereed journal 'The Journal of Green Building' (ISSN 1552-6100), which is published in the US by CollegePublishing, Virginia. The journal has a focus on applied environmental sustainability.
